Located at 29th and Greenwich Rd. in Wichita, Kansas, the Central Plains Youth Sports complex is being developed as a regional facility to serve youth baseball and softball in both league and tournament formats.  Progress at the site currently includes site grading, electrical utilities and sewer infrastructure.

According to developer Galen Worley the site has a projected resumption of phase 1 in spring 2010.
Phase one development includes fields on the West edge of the complex.  Given the difficulties raising private capital for this project the Northeast Baseball and Softball Association views our mission as one of league assimilations and growth to increase the actual demand for such a complex.

With our current nucleus of teams, additional partnerships with city, school, church, and specific membership organizations we recognize the sizeable constituent base capable of inhabiting a premier regional destination.  Currently our primary location at Planeview Park, 31st and S. Oliver, will host the schedule of regular season games until a new complex is playable. We will also forge partnerships to allow access to more age appropriate locations if possible.

As you contemplate where to place your teams this summer, know that we have the administrative experience, umpiring corps, volunteers, and teams to make this a special beginning.

Removing the Doubt

Since beginning this independent phase of league operations, the Northeast Baseball and Softball Association with Central Plains Youth Sports, have had to consistently overcome the residual sentiment of failed efforts and uncertain ownership.

What does it mean that three different groups have tried to facilitate this project?  It means that having a youth sports destination has remained important enough to try again and this collection of partnerships and associations must not fail.  This coalition knows well the impact to the general quality of life and increased intrinsic community value that properly managed youth sports programs and facilities can produce.
